Panasonic brought me back in love for photography and filmmaking. I love their cameras so much. Sony was so robotic i hated it. The s5iix is magical.

The other disappointment that strayed me away from the Panasonic full frame cameras is their lack of good native glass. EVERY other brand has a 16-35 F2.8 native glass. However Panasonic has the crappy 16-35 F4… come on Panasonic… I don’t want to get a sigma, I want a bag full of Panasonic glass and their S1 series, NOT a single of them has good autofocus. So you’ll have to buy non native glass with a poor autofocusing camera. The business model doesn’t make any sense. Then they sabotage their own products, if you bought a S1, the S5II is almost better in every way. I understand offering more bang for your buck BUT why would you offer the S5II before you released the S1II or the S1HII, you know?

There are no artefacts because the background is neutral and uncluttered. If the background was foliage or busy, it wouldn't be that smooth and artefact free.

The thing that disappoints me so much about Panasonic is that I bought my GH5 in I think 2018. The autofocus was slightly poor in 2018. So lumix didn’t listen and released the GH5 II, then they released the GH6 and STILL no autofocus fix. So I was vested in the lenses and batteries and XLR adapter kit. Lenses aren’t cheap. So after the GH6 I gave up on Panasonic and sold all my micro 4/3s stuff. Why didn’t they do this years ago? Why did they screw their fan base that were just waiting for a GH5 with fixed autofocus?

Its so funny how youre so wrong about most things really, by having the biggest newbie opinion, but somehow not being so far for the conclusion. after all, everyone wants something easy to use, weither you are pro and using your gear 200 days a year or just a rich dude wanting the best tech. I hope panasonic can come back, they are the best cameras to work with, especially now that they have a good AF.

I remember begging my local camera shop to bring in some Panny stuff back in 2014. Never happened…well, unless you count eneloop batteries.

The Nikon looks like shit Here, has a fake overprocessed look, looks like cellphone video. Disappointing as my experience with Nikon still photographs is the color is generally excellent.

There is a fine line between offering valid critiques and being a shock-jock. Your videos are fun, but your shtick is to offer controversial or contrarian views, sometimes at the expense of your sincerity. You simply always move your goalpost to exceed whatever is put in front of you. You want 4k 120, you get it... but actually, you wanted 4k 240 etc Either you don't know what you want or you're impossible to satisfy 🤷‍♂️

Most consumers have no clue about them using a Nikon photo and probably wouldn't care anyway. The move into FF, with the S line, was a mistake. Olympus avoided that mistake and stayed in their lane. Just think if Panasonic had poured that development money into their M4/3 offerings instead!

If a particular system is working for YOU and it's putting food on your table then who cares what others think. Like I would pick up the S5 IIX in a heart beat because it straight up kicks ass when it comes the video features and at $500 less than the A7IV like what? False colour, BRaw external recording. Yes please! However when it's comes to actually using it on jobs I do, it some how manages the to fall short in the odd areas. Like you lose phase detect autofocus in HD 120. Huh? No 4k 120? Okay fine 4k 60 then but it has a 1.5 crop. We got 6k open gate but no 4k 120 and cropped 4k60. Why Panny why? You were so close. With the Sony APSCs FX30/A6700 I get my high frames including HD 240 but lose all the pro video features. Like how they gonna call the FX30/3 cinema cameras and as of writing there's no shutter angle? They took the resources to implement that junk focus mapping mode but no waverform, false color or vector scope? All we go for exposure are the zebras because that histogram just trash. Sony why you make us suffer like this? Damn I went straight rant mode just now lol

The year is 2024. I just bought a new in box XF100! I had one years ago, bought when it came out in 2011. Why did I buy a 13 year old camcorder with a 1/3” sensor? Because I mostly film fishing videos in 1080, and my FX6 and FX3 are straight up overkill when my primary cameras are GoPros. They ruined the XF100 and XF200 when they crammed them into the XA series. XA75 is dumb, so I bought the old XF100 I loved years ago instead of a new one with a 1” sensor. If they put the C70 sensor in the XF100 and XF205 body I would be so stoked. Or even the XF605 sensor in those bodies. I’d buy both. The new bodies are dumb.

Panasonic has never done better in the market, you're off. The S5ii is selling like crazy. I can tell you what Panasonic cameras mean: pro features for budget price, it's a fucking workhorse.

Love my cosmetically subpar optically superb Nikon 85mm f/1.8 G. Best 130 quid ever spent. Gets lovely sharp clean images wide open in low light. At that focal length 1.8 is probably max tonehage for practical use that still keeps enough of the subject in focus. Wide aperture is for gathering more light not for taking blurry photos 😜

Panasonic have truly disappointed me in the past two years. Where is the GX9 replacement with real-time LUT? I’m in the process of migrating to OM system so my m4/3 lens invested don’t become waste.

I used the S5 last summer and I loved the way it felt in my hand. Can't say that about the A7r II that I have been using since 2015.

I went into a store in Australia and asked for advice if I should wait for the Sony A7s IV or get the canon R8. He recommended the Lumix S5II. Did some research and ended up getting the S5IIX a few months later from the store. Had the best number of features bang for buck. Lumix S9 is a joke tho. Missing key features like an EVF, but the Lumix S5II is solid. Came from Nikon and Canon.

'Aden Camera', my favourite camera store! Re: Panasonic, I brought my Lumix LX100 to England, and it would record intermittently. Huge disappointment when I was trying to do an interview with a friend performing there, fantastic drummer, Senri Kawaguchi. It ended up being a blank (black screen and no audio) file that still indicated that it had recorded, showing length but no sound or visual! Ironically, I brought a Lumix high-zoom ZS60 with me as well, which worked perfectly when I recorded her performance the next day, and yet that camera cost a fraction of the price of the LX100!

I never sold my cameras. Now I know why. G85 has great stab and is super light weight. Got a FZ1000 coupled with an insta 360 x3 for a cheap do it all travel solution. My GH5s for lowlight and car mount solution. A GH6 for Codecs and great stab. Finally my S5ii for Toneh Stab Autofocus is completing my quest for specs at this point, with all cameras sharing same menu systems and 3 of them giving me open gate multi cam anamorphic solution. Saving money for the GH8 and its cheap global shutter action scene capability. I sense that I will soon be ready to start shooting videos... In the meantime, men I love my poonies ❤❤❤. The Nikkor 85mm 1.8 G is a nice lens. I had it for my old Nikon DSRLs. Good price and image quality and fairly light. Not sure about 3D pop though :) I think the 85mm Z lens has a bit more contrast. Not sure if that is worth the price though.

I have been trying a few cameras lately and the Panasonics are the best. Certainly the best value. When Sony were nowhere I predicted that they would take over the market when they brought out the A7. I'm now predicting that Sony's roll is over. They are terrible build quality and fail. I will never buy another one.
